Morning Capitol

In 2022 I was visiting Washington D.C. for the first time in my life. It was a business trip, but I was determined to make time to take photos of the city, and most especially...The State Capitol. I was only there for a few days, and I spent most of the time shooting, so my hopes for a day of sightseeing and photos was quickly disappearing. The night before my last full day I told myself that I would get up at sunrise, walk outside of my hotel and in the middle of the street, take a photo of the Capitol. It was only right down the street from my hotel, so I had a great view, and at sunrise I knew there should be little to no traffic or people in the way. I looked at the photo in my camera and in that moment I didn't care if I got to see or take photos of anything else in DC. That one capture of the Capitol was worth at least ten other historical figures to me.
